About our PTSA

The overall purpose of the PTSA is to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. Last year, our PTSA awarded $2,000 in scholarships, and over $2,400 in grants to teachers and clubs at PAHS. We participated in the Virginia PTA Reflections program, encouraging students to explore the arts by recognizing their artistic efforts, and hosted family programs including a viewing of the movie Screenagers. With a focus on the safety of graduating seniors, we sponsored our annual All Night Gradfest, an overnight graduation party chaperoned by parents. We attended sporting events, selling PA Spirit wear and cheering on our Cavs! This year we ask you to continue to help us meet our commitment to students. Your contributions, through membership, and donations of your time, talents, and resources, are essential.

PTSA meetings will be held monthly at 6:00 p.m. in the Library Media Center, and are open to the public.  The next meeting will be on Monday, September 11th.  Beginning in October, we will meet the first Monday of every month with the exception of January which will be held on the second Monday due to the holiday:

 Purposes of PTA/PTSA

PAHS PTSA is committed to promoting the purposes of the PTSA shared by the national and state level:

To promote the welfare of the children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.

To raise the standard of home life.

To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.

To bring into closer relation the home and the school, so that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.

To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

The PAHS PTSA tries to limit the number of fundraising events through the collection of dues, donations, and sales of spirit wear. Additional donations through our "Friends of Princess Anne Membership" program supports an annual project selected by the principal of the school. This year, Mr. Little would like the money collected through our "Friends" program to support improvement and beautification of our courtyard. We commit to additional fundraisers to help offset the individual student costs of our annual All Night Gradfest through cookie sales, community donations, and yard sale signs.

The PTSA continues to focus on communications through increased accessibility.  You can contact us by email at [email protected], follow us on Facebook at Princess Anne HS PTSA, and on Twitter, @cavalier_ptsa.

Standing Committees

Standing Committees are what help our PTSA function and manage multiple activities at once. We need multiple members on each committee to operate effectively and have successful programs. If you are interested in serving on one of the Committees below, please contact us. We would love to have your ideas and creativity!

  • Grad Fest: This Committee organizes, fundraises, and hosts the annual All Night Gradfest event for graduating seniors.
  • Grants: This Committee awards grants to teachers, staff, and clubs for instructional and educational purposes, learning projects, or service activities.
  • Hospitality: Members of this Committee support staff back-to-school and appreciation events during the school year.
  • Reflections: This Committee promotes and organizes the annual PTA Reflections program, a nationally acclaimed student recognition program to encourage artistic creativity in the classroom and at home.
  • Scholarships: Members of this Committee select scholarship recipients for PAHS PTSA scholarships.
