PTSA

About our PTSA

The overall purpose of the PTSA is to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. We were proud to be honored with the highest award a PTA can obtain during the 2017-2018 school year, the Exemplary Award, and we strive to earn this award again for 2018-2019.  PTSA supports PAHS through information programs, educational grants, student scholarships, arts in education, staff appreciation events, and student events like CavFest and our annual All Night Grad Fest.

Purposes of PTA/PTSA

PAHS PTSA is committed to promoting the purposes of the PTSA shared by the national and state level:

  • To promote the welfare of children and youth in the home, school, community, and places of worship.

  • To raise the standard of home life.

  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.

  • To bring into closer relation the home and the school, so that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.

  • To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

Fundraising

The PAHS PTSA tries to limit the number of fundraising events through the collection of membership dues, donations, business partnerships, and sales of spirit wear.  Last year, we raised over $23,000 to support Princess Anne High School.  Donations through our "Cavalier Friends” membership level supports an annual project selected by the principal of the school.  Last year, we raised $1,100 toward an Outdoor Cafeteria project and Cavalier Friends will continue to support the Outdoor Cafeteria project for the 2018-2019 school year.  The Outdoor Cafeteria will include new lunch tables, corn hole boards, and more!

Communications

The PTSA continues to focus on communications through increased accessibility.  You can contact us by email at [email protected], follow us on Facebook at Princess Anne HS Ptsa, and on Twitter, @cavalier_ptsa.

Volunteers Rock!

PAHS loves our volunteers; our students and parents clock thousands of volunteer hours annually! Did you know that the PTSA is responsible for tracking ALL volunteer hours provided to PAHS? Regardless of the organization you are committing to or the amount of time, please log your hours at http://www2.vbschools.com/volunteers/hours/landing.asp by following these steps.  You can also email us at [email protected] and we will log those hours for you!

PTSA also recognizes a Volunteer of the Year annually for PAHS.  Last year, George Sauer III was not only recognized as our PA Volunteer of the Year, but also won the Citywide Volunteer of the Year Award! Congratulations, George! If there is someone you would like to nominate as PA Volunteer of the Year, please send those nominations to our PTSA by December 1 at [email protected]
